Just want to get some opinions on the port damage to my 95 115 crossflow. Had a head gasket leak that eventually ate up the gasket causing poor cooling to the #3 cylinder. Heat and piston finally got hot enough to cause failure of the top ring. With the piston still in the block I didn't think it was too bad. But, after pulling the piston I am concerned about the damage to the bottom of the port. Some of the damage is well beyond boring IMO. But, I am looking for other opinions. I don't know if sleeving these blocks is possible.

What are your thoughts??

If it wasnt for the chip on the left side it would run and be ok with the other damage and yes you can have sleeved.

That's pretty much what I thought. I'm going to just get a whole rebuilt powerhead. Wonder if they'll give me a full core with that damage, probably not I would guess.

Thanks for the input

Have you had a marine boring expert look at it? If you bored it .030 over, would the chip clean up?
