Hi. I just purchased an aluminum replacement prop for a 2000 yamaha 90hp 2stroke. The previous ss prop would spin freely and smoothly. The new one, however, grinds a little bit and is difficult to hand turn. I haven't ran it yet, but is there normally a "break in" period where it will smooth out or have i done something wrong? Thnx in advance :joyous:

Sure enough. It was stuck to the old prop. Seems to be pretty common. Because i wasn't sure that i needed one, i didn't notice it missing. :embarassed: Thank u. That could have been bad. One more question..... The thrust washer isn't specific to the prop but to the motor itself, right? (ie; this new prop wasn't supposed to come with one, i just use the same one?)

Thnx again

Ayuh,.... the leading face of the thrust washer has to fit the taper of the prop shaft,....

'n the trailin' face, much match the leadin' face of the Prop....

So,..... Both the Prop, 'n the motor it's goin' onto are Both, very relevant...
