No water from pee hole when in idle.

Hi guys, I have replaced my impeller on my merc 150 because I recently noticed there was no water flow out the pee hole in idle. I am not exactly sure of the year of the motor as it was put together with random parts (what I was told). So I took the old impeller and tried to match it to a new one. Same problem, no water thru pee hole at idle but flows great in gear. I thought maybe the thermostats needed to open but I let it go to 160 degrees and nothing. With the old impeller I had great flow in idle and the engine never got hotter than 120 degrees. Could I have installed the wrong size impeller? It fit just like an impeller should. Thanks. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. BTW my thermostats are gutted as it is a carb motor.

Mine done the same thing, and after a while it stopped altogether. Pee hole blocked or close to it. Stick a bit wire in there to clear it up. I had to pull my water jacket off and clean it out. Saltwater corrosion. Shocking!

Doubtfull the pee hole is blocked if it pisses at higher RPMs. A blocked pisser is just that a blocked pisser. Questions did you check for a worn cup the impellor rides in? Did you check the ride plate the impellor ride on? Did you replace the gaskets? Where any vains missing off the old impellor? Did the impellor have good springy fins like it was already just replaced and maybe the cover of the broken fins in the baseplate or block? Can you post pictures of the old and new impellor? where did you purchase the impellor and what made you decide to buy the impellor you thought might be right? Your asking alot with very minimal descriptions and asking for a cure. Please be more specific so we can help you help yourself. I,m assuming (Not good) that you just got this motor not long ago and it was put together with various parts.
