I have a Merc 225 Optimax XS and I have had trouble with it from the start. I run the hec out of my motors so this is not a causual boating circumstance. I have gone through coils,3, altenaters 3, compressor 1 and many other malfunctions. I have recently discovered that water is entering the motor through the air vents in the back of the motor when running in heavy seas or if I should happen to stop to fast. I brought this point up to Mercury and all they had to say that it was not their problem. They futhermore informed me that if any other breakdowns occured due to water they wuold not cover the fix as per warenty. I'm wondering if anyone else is experencing anything like this? The motor is mounted on a twenty-two and a half foot Aquasport walkaround...TIA...Fishrich
