Mercury 35hp problem

hi im new here and i come for your help because i heard here are the best outboard mechanics

so i recently bought 2 mercury outboards ( estimate 70-80s models)
but i have a problem
i cant find a way to start them as they did not come with any controllers.
so my question is:: Is there any way to jumpstart it? also can you tell me what are the sockets for in the picture attached?( saying as what do you connect to each one) thanks for your help

Why don't you provide the s/ns for the engines and we can provide you with the wiring diagrams.

You don,t need to hook anything up to that plug to try to start the engine You will need to either cross the solenoid to jump start the starter. but you will have to have a battery hooked up properly to the engine or you will mess up the charging system and maybe more. Here is a picture of my remote starter switch I hooked up. The big terminal where the starter hooks to and the little yellow wire with the red stripe are where they are connected and those are the terminals to cross to engage the starter. You can also try pull starting the engine with a rope. Again do not start the engine without a battery connected to it. Fair warning. You didn't say how to stop it after it starts. Do you have a kill switch installed somewhere, or do you just pull the gas line off?

choke it to stop it. pulling the fuel line will also stop it after it runs out of fuel. There should be a manual choke on it

just pull the fuel line out i think its safe as i have seen it on many videos on youtube and this thing being done to my evinrude 115 v4 when it was serviced. also i have flush muffs so im safe to do it( i think so :lol

If you click on the link and open the European pdf, scroll down to 1990 35s, you will see that 1990 begins with s/n 9586000 and 1991 begins with 9630000. Therefore as yours is less than 9630000, it would be a 1990 engine made in Belgium.

That should be the female end of the engine internal wiring harness which connects to the harness coming from the remote control.
See the harness as item 12 under STARTER MOTOR, RECTIFIER AND WIRING HARNESS (ELECTRIC) in the parts listing above.
