Sup fellers, I am going to invest in a Riptide bow mount troller with co-pilot. I have a 16' aluminum Starcraft, from the 80's. My towing weight is a concern, as well as finances. Everyone on here always says get the most motor you can pay for, but I don't think I want to have a 24volt system up front. The boat is relatively light, and I have a 36lb. up there now that moves my boat very well in up to 5mph gusts. I'm hoping to be able to move the boat around well with 10mph gusts, any more wind than that and you may as well stay home IMO. I can't even hold an anchor down in over 10mph wind, in my aluminum kite :joyous: . Any opinions?

I think the 12V, 55# thrust will do what you want without the added expense of the more powerful motor and an extra battery or the added weight of that second battery.
