Hi I'm currently gutting out my 18 foot aluminum flat, going to fix some rivets, install a diamond plate floor and build some storage and center console. I have a early 2000 120hp tohatsu and am wondering if that is too much motor? Wondering if it will be too much weight on the back I believe the outboard weighs about 360 lbs...thanks!

Hey welcome to iboats!

Should be ok but what does the capacity plate say?

Have you got some photos of your rig for us?

Cheers man!

I had a 1989 Alumaweld 18' that was only rated for a 90 HP. A 1978 19 ft. Fisher Sun-Fisher III is only rated for a 75HP. I would try to find out for sure, but I seriously doubt that it's rated for a 120.
