Hello friends. Thanks for reading.
I have a 2002 Mercury 115 EFI .
During last months I, sometimes, noticed some burning odor.
Like plastic or cables too hot.
But no idea about the origin.
I checked almost all but never find what was wrong.
Nothing too hot, batteries ok, cabling....
Last 3 times i saw some white smoke near the power trim motor.
I checked the power trim and it seems ok.
Last time i removed all bottom cowl and top covers.
The smoke was produced by the driveshaft bushing.
It seem to be cooled by water from a small hose.
I think it is time to replace the bushing.
I plan to do it myself.
Any experience? Special tools ? Advice?
Thanks for your help.
