Hi all. Just wondering if anyone would happen to know the recommended spark plug for a 1990 90hp 3cyl Mariner outboard(s/n OC245746). I just recently bought the boat and I dont have an engine manual yet. Right now it has Champion L78V in it. Thanks for any help.

Re: Spark Plug help

Your engine is a model 7090412SD:

Parts List:

Mercury Parts, 75/90 HP (3 CYLINDER)

See sparkplugs (item 10) under Electrical Components

Re the service manual, see the PM which I have just sent to you.

Gerry

The Z in the part number is for radio interference suppression. Interesting that Crowley mentions them for Canadian and Belgium engines. My shop manual for a later model of your engine ('02 model) lists the first plug in the parts list Carholme pointed out and the one with the Z as an alternate. I run the basic plug in my engine and it works fine; however I have no marine radio or other noise sensitive electronics to consider.

HTH,
Mark
