Mercury motor - Yamaha Tach

I have an 88 Wahoo that originally had a Yamaha 70HP motor. The motor was swapped out with a 2007 Mercury 50 HP 2-stroke. The Yamaha tach is till on the instrument panel. Can the Mercury motor work with the Yamaha tach? If so any cable adapters available?
