Can't find information on my Evinrude

Hey guys, I just got an Evinrude that I'm trying to figure out more information and find literature for it.

The model number on the mount is E50BELCIC.

It's a 50 hp Evinrude 2 cylinder. I'm thinking it's a 2-stroke, would be surprised if it was a 4-stroke.

It has two power packs so I think someone said it might be a 1983?

I checked Evinrude's website and it directed me to antique literature, which couldn't find the motor.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Can't find information on my Evinrude

there are lots of places where you can find the list of serial numbers and how they indicate the model, year, and some features (like I think E means eletric start and 50 is your HP).

The year is sometimes stamped on a freeze plug, too

But often when you get old motors you get a frankenmotor and who knows what year the various parts are. I replaced a 1988 70 with a another supposed to tbe the same year and the innards are way different--and stumped a guy who specializes in old ones.

and the model number on the bracket? It tells you what was on the bracket originally. People swap them out often, typcially for the PTT.

Re: Can't find information on my Evinrude

Chinewalker knows this, he musta made a typo. It is a 1981. "CI" indicates the year and INTRODUCES is the code word, where I=1, N=2, T=3, R=4, and so on. A 1980 would be "CS"

EDIT: It is a two-stroke. 50:1 fuel mix. Two power packs on a 50hp??? Nah.

You are correct. Sorry I mistook the coils for the power pack.

Thanks for the pdf Don S. It really helped.

Where would be the best place to find a manual for this?
