Hi guys, I recently acquired a 1980 evinrude 9.9 electric start. Upon taking it for a spin i found that the plate from the stator assembly was rubbing on the block. I disassembled it and found the retainer and link were rubbing on the block. on top of the retainer is two machined plates with small washers under it. After reading up i found that there is supposed to be a plate and plastic bearing under the retainer link assembly. IMG_0132.jpgIMG_0133.jpgIMG_0134.jpgIMG_0135.jpgIMG_0136.jpg. My question is what is the correct parts and way to assemble this so it does not rub anymore. thanks for the help.
