I had a seized motor. Attempted to remove lower unit to determine if top or bottom end problem. Lower unit would not budge. Wedges and many days attempting to remove. No movement at all. Brought out the big guns and destroyed lower unit. Drive shaft now dropped and stuck about 15 inches down. No more movement. Powerhead free now. Yippee. Mid section now has a crack appeared along leading edge. Need to remove mid section now. Do I need to remove powerhead or is it possible to disconnect mid section by removing circlip on bottom of steering shaft and dropping mid section. If at all possible I would rather not remove power head. I realise now the mid section bushing is the problem and need to replace both lower end bits unfortunately. I have these parts thank goodness. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Scott

Gotta remove power head. Midsection is the last part when you disassemble the complete engine.
