Hi,I just bought a 2005 center consul fiberglass boat. The interer paint looks very nice, but I start to notice the heavy traffic area is wearing down, it look like the pAint is being grinding of, not pill. I had call the boat maker they said that it need new gel coat, I was surprise the boat still look new. Please help what is the best way,gel or just a layer of marine paint on top. I had done a lot of search can't fine any info.

Painting fiberglass is an unusual thing . . . R U sure it is paint on the interior and not just the fiberglass looking a bit tired?

If it is glass/gelcoat, your best bet would be to try to freshen it up a bit with polishing compound rather than painting it.

if the gel is just worn thru, re-gel the area and then buff

Welcome to Iboats mate..

Guys .. Im sure that is this a non skid issue. Nothing that your going to apply and buff out will help IMHO.

Yes you would need to apply some nonskid with gel or paint in the non-skid panels that your talking about.

Pics would really help out here..

YD.
