I have a 97 Mariner 135 that has sat for a while. New fuel, filter, primer bulb. Cleaned crabs. Motor starts great, idles great, powers up in reverse. Bogs down and dies in forward. Good strong spark to all plugs. Compression around 100 on all cyllin ders . Cylinders 135 get warm 246 stay cold. Anybody have any issues like this. Thanks

You are probably suffering from gasohol poisoning. ie. the bad gas has clogged your power jets. I'm assuming you have carbs. Try running some Sea Foam thru there. It took several tries for me but ultimately it cleared and I did not have to tear down the carbs.

What kind of seasoning did you use on the crabs? :)

"sat for awhile"-- Had this exact problem when we bought our Party Cruiser (115 Mariner), with that in mind, chances are your fuel pump diaphragms have hardened up while sitting. It's probably pumping enough gas to the carbs to keep up with idling and reversing, but you're simply running out of gas when putting a good forward load on it. Good news is, fuel pump kits aren't all that expensive (mine was $15 back in '05)

Sounds like the switchbox isn,t firing on 246. I think they recomend removing the white black from the trigger to the switchbox and see if it fires if you get spark then you have a bad sector in the switchbox. The manual should give you instructions on proper testing proceedures.

After running ,remove plugs and inspect.compare left bank to right and report back.If your testing in river and bogging under load id start with checking the Stator. How many rpm in forward are you getting.
