I'm considering a new prop for 1992 fourwinns 190 horizon with OMC 5.0. Have not started researching at all but I'm looking for more out of the hole power........top speed is not a concern.

Thanks

Read the stickys at the top of the prop forum and get us as much info as possible.
Usually prop size is under the prop nut.

Thanks for quick reply. Should have read the stickys first, sorry, first day in the forum.

1. More out of hole power (to pull big wakeboarders out of water with loaded boat)
2. Current Prop - Aluminium
3. Current Pitch & Diameter - Not sure. I realize this is important, it is the original factory prop, still looking online for info.
4. WOT rpm's - 4000-4200
5. 1992 OMC Cobra 5.0, 200 hp
6. 1992 fourwinns 190 horizon, 20ft, 2,750 pounds dry

As far as problem or issue trying to correct....never really had an issue with current performance of factory prop. Just time for a new one, prop is pretty chewed up (20 years old, only rebuilt once, and my sister starts a little too shallow when towing friends:)) This summer with boat loaded with people, and extra 600 lbs of recently purchased sacs I want to make sure I can get 250lb buddies up out of the water.

Thanks again!!

There won't be any factory info online about the prop. Pitch and diameter will be stamped onto the hub between the blades. Kinda hard for that to get dinged up...

Calling it an "original" prop is useless info. Take the prop off to find the size stamped on the hub someplace.

For what it's worth(right now) when I run your best guess numbers through the ole Mercury prop selector for acceleration, it comes up with a 4 blade 17 pitch.

Thanks for all the info. I will readdress this come springtime when I get the boat back from marina.
