I am having a problem with the tilt&trim system on my port HPDI 150 'o2. The pump motor spins fine. The engine does nothing, up or down. I bought this boat a couple of months ago. I do not know the history but it looks like it has had hydralic problems on this motor before. The manual release is in bad shape. Bad enough I have been unable to turn it.

I thought the first thing to try was to add fluid. I forced the outdrive up so I could get to the fill hole. When I opened it a few ounces cam out. Replaced that oil but no change in performance.

What should I try next?

You will need to remove the trim motor and be sure the coupling is in place. That is a small piece between the pump and motor. Also I have had a air pocket form in the pump area under the pump and do the same. After removing the trim motor and checking the coupling, add fluid to the pump area until its level with the housing.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. Will do it.

Some info that I should have added but will not effect Kens answer, this unit did work up until this past weekend.
