Brake Part Needed but can only be delivered within the US & Canada

I need a caliper slider pin for my trailer as there is one missing.
I have located the part here but they only deliver to the US:

TIE DOWN Vented Rotor S.S. Caliper Slider Pin #12114

Does anyone know where I can get one of these sent to me either here or in the UK. (I'm going to London for Christmas)

Very frustrating as the only places that I can find that stock these pins simply will not deliver outside the US.

Facing your shipping problem, the simplest solution, especially in light of your occupation, would be to remove a sample pin from another caliper and have a machine shop manufacture one from stainless steel bar stock. The only 'difficult' (pricey) operation would be the hex head.....a simple slot drive would suffice....be sure to use thread locker when installing.

Very frustrating as the only places that I can find that stock these pins simply will not deliver outside the US.

My best guess is to contact the manufacturer Tie Down Engineering and see if they will ship this part to you if they have the parts or they might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Have you looked around at any wrecking yards in your area if you have any, as long as the same threads and pin diameter and material is used, something else may work, you would think a $6 part would be fairly easy to get even in the UK, but I would contact the manufacturer first..

Shipping anything here in the US is way beyond ridiculous as fuel keeps going up and would probably cost 2-3 or more times the cost of the part to ship it.

A machine shop in your area might be another option, but I would think costly as well...

You might even be able to find one in London when you go there,unless your planning to take the trailer with you.

Im not sure what diameter the pin is, but looks like if its a common us size, you could make one from a stripper or shoulder bolt. If its a common size, just get a longer bolt, cut the head off, and hand grind a hex on it.

Kudos to INCOOP! :thumb:

Priority mail to Dubai looks to be under $20usd.
Parts and shipping Total looks to be about $45 for one or $60usd for all four.

Just and additional comment.........

Are you SURE you only need one pin? If you have the opportunity to do this and have an iboats member help out....... be certain that is all you need....... what about boat/motor parts...... impellar etc.

I would just hate to see someone get help and not take full advantage of it.

AND....... Just for the record.... I have witnessed this type of shipping transaction MANY times before on iboats!! Great job gentlemen!!

Good idea Bob, I could do with a drive unit too, not sure if lncoop has a jiffy bag big enough.

Hi Buddy. I have ordered 2 just in case. They only weigh 22 grammes each so shouldn't be a problem with packaging etc.
I have PM'd you re: postage payment.

Delivery due in 2-3 days apparently. I'll send you the address in London as I'm there until the 27th December so no rush. (if you send them here I'll never see them)!

Having been an automotive machanic for years, I've seen lots of caliper pins just like the one you linked to. Have you tried an automotive parts supplier? For the live of me I can't remember what type of car, but a good parts person should be able to match it up.
