We are driving down to stuart, Florida with a UHaul to meet our new to us boat. Neither of us has done this before! We sold our home and most of our stuff. Any encouragement very welcome! Thanks!

That's something I've often thought of doing- sell up and go do something different. Came close a couple of times but now it's too late. I envy you - go for it and have fun. Tell us more about the boat.

I second what Charlie said! Go have FUN!!

Make sure you have maps of the local water ways. I grew up just north of Stuart in Ft Pierce and the inter coastal will bite you if you don't know it well.

Green with envy!!

Congratulations. Remember that we really like details and better yet, pictures. Are you going to be cruisin'? How about the Great Loop?

I was talking to a next door neighbor yesterday, who just returned from a 200 mile round trip river cruise in a new 71' yacht. He absolutely loved the lifestyle.

Awesome...

What kind of boat? Cruisersforum.com and sailnet.com have a huge amount of liveaboard members. with more info than you could ask for, sailnet is almost all sailboat owners (go firgure) but cruisersforum has a good portion of powerboaters... not trying to steer you away from iboats... although there is few liveaboards on here your going to be hard pressed to beat the about of repair, upgrade, and maintenance information on this site along with the well rounded group of people.

Most of us are jealous of what your doing... (me included)

Lived in Stuart for about 20 years.....Now next door in Jensen Beach. Having lived on several boats myself, I can say I enjoy it. Let me know if I can help.

I'm hanging out in Stuart right now. Chapman school is right in town, might be worth checking them out for some classes. Where are you coming from?
