Is powerhead removal necessary?..Pics

I just picked up a 2000 Johnson 90hp. There is a bit of corrosion on the lower mounts that has everything out of line and causing the shift rod to hang up.

My question is...How do I replace these?

I have been told that it has to basicly be all taken apart including removing the powerhead. Seems like there would be a simpler way to replace them.

Thanks for any advice!

See those holes on the front. There are four bolts in there that connect the mount to the exhaust housing.

Remove those four bolts and pry the the mounts out and replace.

Thanks for the replies!!

Thats great, does the mount bracket have to be removed as well, or will the new mounts just slide in and bolt to the bracket?

They just slide back in and bolt to it.

Don't be afraid of using some heat as the mounts are junk anyway. And paint is cheap.
