I was just given a Galaxy boat and trailer. I am thinking about a rebuild on the boat. How or where do you find the year and model of a Galaxy boat? It is pretty much a hull, inboard motor removed.

Well, I told you I was a NEWBY. Tried to attach a photo, do not see it though. Also thank you for teaching me two things already, I had to look up Port Side and Transom (Hey, at 67, I am learning new tricks). Somebody before me removed the top of the transom. Looks like they were trying to change it from an inboard to an outboard motor. So I have not found any numbers. I guess I should just try to find out somehow and part it out if anybody needs parts. All windshields, Chrome rails,

You should be able to find this info on the title. If you didn't get a title, I'd find out from the agency that you registers boats in your state, who's name the title is in. You should be able to get this information from the registeration number on the side of the hull. They should also be able to tell you the year and model. Make sure you can even register it before you do any work.

OK, finally found the HIN# It is a 1981 185 Bow Rider. I guess after all this and looking close at it all day I will just strip the hull and scrap it. Great Southern Draw trailer came with it though. I hate throwing away all the complete walk through windshield, chrome rails, horns, etc though. BUT, it would look funny on my 16ft Jon Boat. Thanks for the answers that helped me a lot.
