Hi, I have a ted willaims clutch drive with a twist grip throttle, model I think is 217-5889-0, and the seiral number is 2L170632. Its a 7.5hp air cooled. I was woundering what year it was? Also I Dont have any spark. Any suggestions? coil works , just not sure what the problem is.

It can only be points, condenser, or coil. File (not sandpaper because grit causes problems) the contact surfaces clean and set the gap on the points. If that doesn't help you can test the condenser with a volt meter or just replace it. Inspect wires closely to be sure there aren't any bare wires touching things they shouldn't.
