Back again with the same engine I had problems over the summer. Prior to me a marina service shop preformed a carb job. Boat was still not running right. I found that the timing advance arm was not moving leaving Timing @ -6 Degrees. I fixed that and it performed between -6 to +22. Two months go by and my friend ask me again to look at it again" not running right" I asked when was the last time the engine was ran last before now, Over a month was said. I think carb job again because it sat for over a month. Engine randomly goes to WOT with a little hesitation at 3K rpm than gets on step. 3Krpm is where the timing are hits the stop. Other times goes to 3Krpm and sputters bogges than dies! Should I do the carb job or look else where?
