good day all

my name is jesse from bermuda and I have twin Yamaha z200 2-stroke outboards. my port engine alarms goes off as soon as I start the engine. I had this problem before and after changing the therostat's the alarm was cool. now the alarm is going off again, changed the therostat's and still alarms. once I put the engine into gear the alarm goes off. I'm thinking my head's have a build up off salt inside the water cooling pockets. any suggestions anyone?

Re: Yamaha outboard alarms

Alarms can indicate an overheating issue, but that's not the issue on a cold engine.

The alarm may be related to the oil injection system thinking there's no oil either in the big external oil tank or in the little tank on your engine's powerhead. Sometimes the electronic oil modules (with the switch) go bad.

You probably need to get a quality repair manual for your engine. It'll guide you in the correct direction.

Some motors had low battery voltage alarm, so you might need to check out that also.

Yes a Yamaha service manual for your motor would help you a lot
