rebuilt 2000 block to 4.3 mpi or new 3.0 tks

i have an option to buy a new 2011 grew hull 18ft bow rider option is to power with a rebuilt 2000 block to a 4.3 mpi with gen2 outdrive or for 5k more same hull with a new 2012 3.0
i am leaning to the rebuild but this will be my first boat and not sure on rbuild quality or new lower power both are from reputable marinas

So you are choosing between a 2000 year 4.3 or a new 2012 year 3.0 for 5k more? If that is right go with the 4.3 for sure. The 4.3 is a very nice engine.

a 2000 block rebuilt to todays speaks he says
with a new gen remanned out drive
or a new new 3.0
is it good idea for the rebuild agin will be first boat and i will abuse it

sorry let be clear both are boats are new never registerd 2011 hulls bankrupt manufacturer
one that is 5k cheaper is rebuilt 2000 block to 4.3 mpi 220hp with remanned gen 2 outdrive all to todays specs he claims
one that is 5 more has new 2012 3.0 tks with new outdrive
again i am new and will probably abuse while i learn

I still think you are better off with the 4.3. If you think you might abuse them you would probably abuse the 3.0 more because of lack of power and then you just wasted the $5k extra.

I would ask about a warranty. They remanned drive my just be an SEI and would carry a 3 year warranty. If he is willing to warranty the drive and engine package they he must be confident that there is nothing wrong.

nice little boat took a look at it today hull still hastape on it from the factory and the block he is putting in was there on stand he said it has been rebuilt by forget thename but ics or something specialize in rebuilding blocks said it is xrayed and confirmened to merc specs will make offer tomorrow on it i think
he is giving a one year warranty on the engine and outdrive throwing in sfatey kit life jackets licenseing fees for 15,900 and keeping it for winter i pick up in spring basically a new boat with 4.3 mpi dont think i can do any better deal

I looked up grew boats... they look similar to the tahoe boats here in the states. For that price, sounds like a great deal. I think the 4.3 will be the best option. More power for not a lot more fuel. It will have a better resale too... when you decide to upgrade. So this was a boat that wasnt fully built when the company went bankrupt?

yes the hull was justsitting at factory. there appears to be 3 of them on the market here they must have got at auction
the other 2 have installed brand new 3.0 and are asking 20k
this is asking 15900 with 4.3 rebuilt did not get there yesterday but going to buy offer on it tomorrow said would take taxes now and balance in spring with pick up and water test
