My engine (according to the Tohatsu parts manual) requires a 3B7-65021-1 impeller. The catalogs I have viewed, including iBoats have the following: Replaces: Tohatsu 3C7-65021-1, 3B7-65021-2 Mallory

If their impeller fits, that must mean that either the "C" as in the first replacement reference, or, the "2" in the second have no bearing on anything as mine requires B not C and 1 not 2. Can someone give me some advice on this? Thanks.

Re: Tohatsu 90A Impeller

You have an old, superceded part number, and a wrong number. The current, correct, OEM impeller is 3B7650212M, IMPELLER (60/70B-C,90A), $40.55. The 3C7650211M IMPELLER (NS120A/140A/70/90TLDI), is not the correct part for your motor.

In our shop, we would not replace just the impeller; we would do the entire wp kit, which includes the ss wear plate and the ss impeller cup, as well as all the necessary gasketing and the drive key for the impeller. You would order: WATER PUMP KIT : 90A 2-STROKE Fits: 90A 2-stroke model. Part # 3B7652310M. List Price (MSRP): $94.64, available from any Tohatsu/Nissan dealer, including me.

You can drop me an email at the office: paul@obersheimersails.com and I'll be happy to help you.

There is no circumstance where just replacing the impeller would be a good idea. Use the kit and as Paul said, the 3B part number is the correct one. Stay clear of aftermarket parts when possible.
