I am trying to do a rebuild on a 1985 Evinrude 90HP V4 VRO. The bottom two pistons are shot and need to be replaced. I have removed: all of the wiring, flywheel, starter, carb, steering linkage, and removed the bolts on both sides that go from the bottom up. There are also 2 large bolts that go from the boat side towards the back of the engine at the bottom of the powerhead, do these need to be removed? I do not have a motor jack and am trying to take the powerhead off and move it to a table to work on it. I cannot get the powerhead to budge at all. Am I missing something or is there some trick to get it to break loose?

Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up your mtr. They have good parts diagrams. Just look carefully.
