Try adjusting the shift cable but first disconnect it and slide it the slide on the bracket by hand to see if it engages Reveres where the porp locks fully in both directions. If it clicks and does not lock then the shaft has to be moved 1 spot. If it does lock in both directions the put the shifter in drive put the slide in drive the prop will click in one direction and lock in the other direction. adjust the barrel to meet the cup with the cable end alligned with the bracket pin that secures the end of the cable and lock her in. Then try again. If it does not lock in both directions the LU must come down because it may not have been installed properly
