Afternoon, I have another niewb question here. I used the search tool but could not find it.
Anyway, I have a Mercruiser 5.7 (2001) with Bravo III that I want to change the water separator (reason: peace of mind, regular maintenance) My question is, in order to replace it do I need to shut of any fuel valve or anything? Or can I just put some pads underneath and unscrew and replace?

Thank you in advance!

Re: Water Separator

No, there are no shut off valves in the system.

Ayuh,... Get yerself a seal lock plastic baggie, abit bigger than the filter,...

Wrench the filter loose, slip the baggie 'round it, 'n spin it off....

Zip it up, 'n install the new 1,...
After ya pull the dipstick outa the motor, 'n oil the o-ring on the filter, with the oily end... ;)
