07 mercruiser single point system

I usually have my boat wintrrized but decided to just drain everything myself. It's a 3.0 mercruiser with the single point Drain system with 2 blue hoses then there's a black hose. I disconnected all 3 from the block and made sure the holes were not clogged. Everything drained fine I left the quick discos disconnected from the block overnight. Now to my question the third drain is toward the back of the motor while the other 2 come down right of the block does the 2 blue hoses go together and the black one towards the back. Stupid question I'm sure but I like things to be right thanks!

I would guess the black hose you are referring to is the one that Tee's into the blue hose fitting on the bottom of the manifold, and the hose from the transom shield to the thermostat housing. It's just part of the drain system to drain the hose (and cooler) if you have power steering.
You should also pull the big hose off the circulation pump to make sure it's all empty.

Thanks a lot I did pull the big hose coming g from the t stat but no water came out so I'm hoping everything drained properly. We have already been down to 29 and 30 degrees here in Ohio

I know this has probably been asked a million times but is this setup safe for winterizing? I figured pulling the disconnects from the block instead of just letting it drain from the hoses would be a safer way to go.

I always recommend to people to just remove those blue hoses and throw them away. If the hose gets plugged up, you have no way of knowing or clearing them out. Then you end up loosing a block or manifold to freeze damage.
I would just replace the fittings in the block with good ole brass hex plugs to drain block and manifold (use a screw or stiff wire to make sure the holes are clear and not blocked by debris), and disconnect the hoses and lower it into the bilge to empty it. Takes 5 minutes once you have it set up and know what you are doing.

Yeah I would love to do that but I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable doing it myself. The brass plug seems more fool proof than the easy single point Drain system to me. I would much rather just pull a couple plugs and know everything is done
