Re: 45 hp classic 50
Your Classic 50 is the same engine that was built from 1963. In 1983, the industry began rating HP at the prop, you lose about 10% from teh crank to the prop, so they re-rated it at a 45hp. For that block, it's the highest HP. The next size inline 4 block was the 650 (65hp). Yours is pretty much topped out, and in all honesty, you wouldn't even notice 5HP.
