MPG 1991 OMC seadrive

I have a 91 OMC seadrive 2.0 140 hp version and a 1991 TeamBaja center console boat. The motor has been recently rebuilt had blown head gasket.new rings and machine work etc. I have disconnect the vro so I mix oil with gas.I use it primarily in the sea of cortez.and I am only getting 1 mpg the prop is 15x17 ss and at 4500 speed is 35mph gps .and suggestions to improve MPG?

Is that a misprint/typo?
That implies you are burning 35 GPH....that is ludicrous.

No it is running great it idles ,runs out,trolls no misses, sounds great no hiccup. just sucks gas. cannot find any gas leaks.
on a day may put on 100 miles. going from rock pile to rock pile. find bait maybe troll.I maybe off a little you know liter to gas but not much .

My boat is 23' fiberglass panga like design so it does not weight much.

For general use, as you say...some high speed, some trolling, etc., I am not sure that MPG is a meaningful number as a comparator for anything. Especially with your apparent difficulty with numbers.

If you get 1 MPG...or even twice that, 2 MPG, you are running 100 mile/day....that is at least 50 gallons of fuel. :eek:

How much do you carry on board?

You run 100 miles per day, getting 1 MPG, which means you use all 100 gallons per trip, is this correct?
