Is it normal for my 2 stroke yamaha 150 Saltwater series to make a clicking sound when in the water but not on the waterhose. Motor is fast and has 110 on all 6 cylinders.

Re: Yamaha 150 Clicking sound

Could be a fuel pump or any of a number of components....my 90C Yamaha 2 stroke makes a good bit of mechanical noise/click/clatter...just part of the 2 stroke motor experience. Wife and I were launching the boat one day, and I said, OMG, what's that noise in the motor...wife said noise is "in your head"..stop being paranoid and let's get the boat in the water!...hate to admit it, but she was right!...but just that one time!;)

Not enough information to make an educated guess

Its probably making the noise on the hose but you can tell it with the extra exhaust noise. I hear clicking coming from under the flywheel on many of them. Never have been able to figure just what it is though.
