I have a chance to buy the motor pictured below. the model is j3001106a. I found out it is a wards sea king 3 hp. I tried to find pictures of one but don't see any with the barrel shaped tank on them. If anyone knows anything about this motor please respond. If anyone knows what year it might be that would be great. the following numbers are on the id plate, J3001106a, 333477, ktv27004-a

its name is the same as a former President, or you could just call it a Hilary special. 3hp

you can look that up, http://www.discount-marine-parts.com/ob_sea_king_clinton_model.html amazingly your model number is not there, could the 4 be a 3??

Value is in the eye of the beholder, if it ran good 35-75$ tops unless your in Ohio, I hear they will pay a premuim on junk.

They show the J300 Clinton as a 1971 3hp.

Lots of threads here on Clintons.

I have a Clinton Apache which looks very much 'related.' It's pretty much similar other than the cowling. The one I have is a 5 horse and has a separate gas tank. It's a great backup motor. I got mine for $25 and it was apparently used only a couple of times. fyi

Those Clintons, like the Eskas are good lightweight motors, eventhough they are a bit noisey. If cared for properly, they'll run for quite a long time.
