Hi,

Can any one guide to which propeller I should use to my Larson Cabrio with 5.7L Mercruiser 250 HP? I prefer to have aluminum one but if you recommend stainless steel I will go for it.

As informed by Larson co. I should have 19" pitch and 14.5 dia

PLease guide with the proposed brand you prefer as I have seen various brands here in iboats but no clue which one I should go for.

Thank you

The Mercury prop selector suggests a 15-1/2 X 18 pitch in aluminum using a 1.62 gear ratio. That seems like a reasonable place to start, given the size and weight of your boat.

It would be helpful to know the year of the boat, to better pick the correct gear ratio of the drive(Alpha or Bravo?). :)

Here is my answers:
Please note that I'm rebuilding a Larson Cabrio 244 I bought it without a drive, so I dont know how it works

1) Performance issue you are trying to correct.
I'm aiming to get reasonable speed with power

2) Current prop manufacturer, model, aluminum or stainless as a minimum.
I dont know what was the original one but I hope I can get aluminum as in my area many shallow water is there so I want save my outdrive.

3) Current prop diameter and pitch (required).
As advised by Larson boats, the gear ratio is 1.47, 19" pitch and 14.5 dia

4) Wide open throttle RPM and speed with an average load (very helpful)
I dont know this as I never used the boat with a drive yet

5) Engine/drive make, model, year, and HP
Engine is 5.7L with 250 HP and I just purchased 1.47 SE116 drive

6) Boat make model, year, length and weight
Larson Cabrio 244 99, 25 feet approx and weight is 2722 KG

The Mercury Marine web site has a prop selector that you can use to plug your info into to get a suggested prop size for your boat.

One source I looked at had your boat listed as weighing 2272 KG(5000 lbs). Using that weight, and that gear ratio; a 14.5 X 19 would not be a good choice according to Mercury, when you add in people and gear, fuel, etc.
