I got this boat I fish in the Detroit river for walleye there's a lot of ship traffic waves can get over 3' and am so wondering if anyone had this hull or one similar thanks .and it has 200hp Johnson gt
Re: 1990 pantera bass boat anyone know how will take waves
"I think your going to need a bigger boat" (Jaws) dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum da de de da--Chomp! Chomp!
Really depends upon the hull itself. That said, the boat will take a lot more punisment than your body can.
And the local bass club has told me of some of their boats being filled to the gunwales with water while riding on the Chesapeake Bay. They keep going and turn on all the bilge pumps.
I have taken 5 footers in the 15 foot boat in the avatar and believe me, it wasn't fun--for me. The boat didn't care. And it's no exaggeration. Standing in the boat I could not see over the tops of the waves. No shame in being a fair weather sailor! LOL
Re: 1990 pantera bass boat anyone know how will take waves
when the waves get over a foot then i quit fishing in my bassboat and head for calmer waters. i have no problem riding in 2 foot chop but thats under power so the bow is cutting the waves. the seating position on the boat is very low so it makes the waves look bigger and all the bumping is hard on the backside. i have to admit i get seasick easy so i wouldnt take a bassboat out where there are 3' waves that are coming in at a angle from a larger boat while im fishing.

basscats are good rough water boats, but the 20,21' ers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,any bassboat ain't fun in 3' seas,I switch from my bassers, into my aquasport 200 CC pro,she likes it rough.
