Broke my key off in the ignition, so decided to install new ignition. I've wired it exactly as the diagram on the box and found on the internet.

red/violet wire to = B
yellow/red to = S
violet/white to = C
black/yellow to = M (raised)
black to = M

I only had 5 wires the ones listed above, there is a connection for another wire labled "A". I don't have a wire to go to this connection?

I wired it as listed above and nothing? I don't hear anything.

My old switch was wired slightly different, it had a push button under the ignition
The push button had the violet/white wire connected to it, then a wire from the push button to the ignition. I was told the push button was used for the "choke solonoid. I wouldn't need it with this new switch because the chock would engage when you push the new ignition switch in.

Help would be appriciated

Seems you have it wired right. The "A" on the switch is for a tach or whatever. Check your battery and all the connections. Also your neutral safety switch in the control box.
