Day cruiser center console fishing boat

Would it be possbile to cut the top of a day cruiser style jet boat boat, or would it make the boat unstable? Along the purple line in this picture would be a rough shape.

I know its kinda a random question, but jet boat are super common out here and they are needed to fish certain parts of the rivers. I'm wanting to take out all of the seats out and turn it into a rear center console. Thanks for any advise, or criticism...

I did this many years ago to an outboard-powered 15ft Glastron ski boat. My biggest concern was how weak the overall structure of the boat would be. I did have to attach the remaining gunwale sections of the cap to the one and only rib. No problems noticed during ten years of use in that configuration. Identify your existing structural design before you start cutting. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick response. Fancy river boats go for a pretty penny out here, so I'm trying to come up with something for less.

I'd say it could be done by adding a large elevated front deck a few inches down from the top of the gunwale, this would strengthen the hull back up plus give you added storage space below deck as a bonus.

I did that also but my boat was so small that it only amounted to an anchor storage compartment. Looks like one rib showing up around the dash area in the latest picture, so you will have to investigate further and decide where to tie-in the forward deck.
