Just wanted to let anyone out there that has a boat from Essaness Craft, I know there is not a lot of information on Essaness, but I can help with that. They were built by Glenn C. Short in Torrance, California. My father built these beautiful boats from about 1948 to 1959. Originally, the company started out as "Essandee" with my grandfather, then became EssanessCraft later on. If anyone has one of his boats I would love to have a picture. Also, I have some photos of several of his boats.

I also would like to see the vintage pics!!!

... we love boat porn on this site and vintage boat porn is all the better!!!

It doesn't really matter what the boats were made out of back then... they could've been made out of cardboard!!! We don't care, we just want to see the pictures!!!!!!!!!;)

Re: Essaness Craft

Hope I'm posting this right. The boats were wood, I remember being at the boat yard when I was little and I was allergic to the fiberglass. He was an amazing woodworker. I also remember him talking about the engines, so most were inboard. I will post pictures as soon as we sign escrow and unpack. I even have a copy of one of his advertisements, he and mom were in a small boat with my brother. I will post whatever pictures I can find as soon as possible. I am so thankful for the interest. Another interesting thing, he drew up the plans for the first fiberglass boat but didn't patent the plans, then ChrisCraft did it.

Hello,

I have an essaness craft that was passed along to me, dont know nothing about boats, googled the company and this was all i could find. Its a small 9ft boat but given that your dad might have built it, figure you be interested in knowing there is another boat out there lol.
