I had a battery turn over in my bass boat. It was a few days before I found it. The acid was in storage area and hull. I poured baking soda in and washed it with soap and water. Is there anything I could have or should have done? Thanks RC

Re: Battery Acid

Sounds like you did all you could do. Of course, from now on, strap the battery down so it doesn't happen again..

Re: Battery Acid

I agree with Rick, you did good. You finished by flooding the area and bilge pump with fresh water, right?

Rick also mentioned strapping the battery down. It is a USCG requirement. This is what those battery boxes are designed for. They hold the battery in place, contain any battery soup that makes its way out of the battery, and provide a nonconductive cover for the battery terminals, also a requirement.

Sorry you have to experience that.
