The link above is not a commercial advertisement for anything and should not be construed as such.

This is a non-copyrighted non-commercial design plan that I authored myself and not a promotion or a solicitation as some here (the Moderator) have mistaken this for last time. In other words, I am selling nothing here, just sharing a custom idea of my own and not for profit.

"Jonny's Boat" is the non-copyrighted personal name I plan to give my next boat.

And no, the boat pictured here is not for sale by me or anybody I know.

Your strengths are graphical . . . I see you have a place for those fuel tanks.

Those are just gas cans on the swim platform for extra cruising range to be safe. A 21-foot I/O cuddy generally has about a 100 mile range on economy cruise. Two FULL five gallon gas cans will add about 40-50 miles of range. Generally, those small fish-ski boats have 20-35-gallon tank capacities. I will be looking for a 3.0 or a 4.3 MerCruiser at largest on my future boat. I am just toying with the idea of what I will use my future boat for and how I might doll her up to look neat also. My next boat will certainly be geared with two-large dogs in mind to share the enjoyment on the water. My 14-foot flat-lakes aluminum Lowe I had 11 years ago certainly did not cut it for space and comfort and definitely not for rounding Point Reyes, California at sea. Most fiberglass trailer boats are mass-produced and lack little character these days otherwise without something like my planned exterior custom touches.

Why not just remove and replace the existing gas tank and replace it with a larger one or add an auxiliary tank?

Carrying a couple of gas cans is the cheap method. There is no guarantee that my future boat will have space out of the way for upgraded fuel tank capacity anyway. The cans and simple mounting bracket could also be removed for short boating trips easily.

I'm not sure that much weight bouncing and flexing a swim platform in open seas is a good idea.
