I have owned a 2003 F15A Yamaha 4 stroke stroke engine for the last year. I've not had any issues with it.....until today.
I have just serviced the engine, changing the engine oil, gear oil, spark plugs, oil filter and fuel filter.
I was out in my boat today and it appeared to run perfectly.
On returning I saw a black grease/oil was seeping from the upper exhaust and the exhaust at the rear of the propeller (I am assuming an exhaust is located there also?)
It appears I have put too much engine oil into the tank, could this be the cause of the black stuff?
I will drain some engine oil regardless but I was wondering if this is likely to be the cause of the problem or if something more serious could be causing this?
