Hey guys,
Im curious about this trailer i got. The beams that attach to the leaf springs look bent to me. Im wondering if someone with an escort trailer could compare my trailer to theirs and tell me if there is supposed to be a "bow" in the beam or if its supposed to be 90'. I have a pic that explains much better than I can...

So ive been restoring this old beater trailer i got for nothing and its in great shape except for inner wheel bearing on driver side was completely toast... I will replace the bearings and races... im grinding off rust and painting and cleaning it up for the project boat i will find in the near future.

Re: Late 80s Escort trailer restore...

I had an '89 Escort trailer for a 22' boat and don't remember anything looking like yours. The cross braces were "V" shaped with adjustable rollers for the keel and that is about the only thing I remember that was curved or bent. The leaf spring brackets were bolted/welded to a rectangular frame that was bolted under the boat trailer frame and could move forward or rearward to adjust for weight issues. Not sure I've explained this right, but I'll look and see if I have any pics of the trailer.

On Edit: That "V" was pointed down on my trailer, any chance someone didn't bolt yours in the wrong way?
