When I took them out they were pretty much flat. Does the rounded side go up? Also, do I need anything like Gasiola to install them?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

rounded up. Shouldn't need any goop but won't hurt anything.

As stated, rounded side up, then I use an socket extension and a hammer to flatten them. Dont overdo it, a couple smacks should do. If you are worried, sealer can be used. I have used 3M 847, since it is what I mainly use.

Is this for a carb or powerhead? Some guys use their wives clear nailpolish on the carb plugs as you cannot see it.

Don't use any kind of goop before installing them. Too much danger of it getting inside. If you want to put some on the outside, that's up to you, but it is not needed if the plug is installed correctly. When you set it, only go to the flat stage. If you go beyond flat, it loosens up again.

Thanks ... i saw a video and he didnt but i also saw a thread where they did. I did notice that it appeared it didn't have anything so I will take your advice and just tap her in and put her back. I got a 'project pontoon' boat that i didnt realize how much of a project it was. Lower unit replaced (previous owner said yeah there is oil in the lower unit... NOT) and the fuel pump was replaced too so hopefully after the carb rebuild it should run much better. Cant go full throttle as she stalls but will restart.
