I am new to boating and recently purchased a boat with a 3.0 GL Volvo Penta I/O. I am now winterizing the boat. I have only located 2 drain plugs. One on the exhaust manifold and the second on the block. Both are on the port side (passenger side) of the boat. Are there only 2 plugs on this model? I am unable to locate any other drain plugs. I am in a remote location and without local dealer support. My Volovo Penta manual talks about "plugs" but is not specific in their count. Help! Frost is coming!

There are only 2 drain plugs. One on the block and one on the manifold. Remove them and use a stiff wire and clean the holes out. They do plug up at times. You still need to drain the raw water pump, and remove the large hose from the circulation pump and drain it. Then the engine is drained and will not get freeze damage. But that is a long way from winterized. Have a look at this link. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=178695

Do you have a full model number or serial number for your engine? The 3.0L engine has been used since 94 and there are changes.
