Throttle and Shift Control Addition?

Hey guys, I'm new to this whole boating scene. So after two years of my 15' fibre glass boat sitting in the back yard I finally found a motor for it.
So my question is, can I hook up throttle and shift controls to my boat from the motor? Currently one person has to sit in the back controlling the throttle and shift with that arm sticking out of the motor while the person at the front steers the boat. I have a 1969 Johnson 25 Hp outboard.

yes you should be able to. You would have to buy an aftermarket dual control box and the proper length omc cables. One of your controls would be for throttle and the other to shift forward and reverse.

Re: Throttle and Shift Control Addition?

Is there any specific part number? So I've been looking around and I've found a Johnson dual control box. Called throttle and shifter control. And on top of that I but the throttle and shifter cables? Any eBay link I can get them off?
