I am looking into getting a Sylvan 1600DC or Smoker Craft 162DC or maybe the Alumacraft version and can only find performance test with the 50Hp. Also how well do these boats hold up for the money.
Since these boats have been around for a few years, I would like to here from owners. Can anyone tell me how it performes with the max HP of 75HP to 90HP. What kinda of hole shot and speeds do you get?

My Alumacraft Navigator 165CS (now called the Classis 165CS) with a 75 HP two-stroke Merc is an excellent combination. Pops out of the hole in a heartbeat and runs 45 with two adults and fishing gear. Good all around boat as would the Smoker Craft.

That sounds like what I am looking for. In fact I have my eye on a 165 navigator. I have a place on a big lake and want at least 40 out of a boat with good hole shots. Thanks again.

Unless you actually wreck them tinnies last forever, I am running a 1981 Sea Nymph, if has some bumps and bruises on her but she is still dry and runs great, I painted it a few years ago so you really can't tell it isn't a newer boat.
