I have a 1972 Evinrude 4hp Lightwind. I had the motor in storage for two years while overseas. Everything drained tank etc. was in storage for two years. Initially motor would not start, I took to shop and had it checked. Afterward, I took to water, motor ran good for a couple hours then die. Kept having to crank, it would run for about two minutes and die again, this repeated maybe twenty times. Now, the motor runs at a very slow idle. If I could walk on water, I would walk faster than the motor will push the 14 jon boat, any I walk slow. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Does running with the choke out make a difference? Best thing is to check compression, then spark and then your carb. My gut says it will be a fuel issue but it is best to eliminate things as you go. Was it running great when you put it in storage.? Best of luck. Rick.
