mercury 115 lower unit

hello i was looking for a lower unit interchangable list . i have seen some for Johnson but not Mercury . could you tell me what years and what Horse power lower units would bolt up to my motor with out having to buy a shift rod update and so on. i see where some list 75 hp thru 115 then some 90 hp thu 115 and so on
i have a 1990 mercury 115 hp 2 stroke with 20" shaft .

You have a later model LU so anything from 1988 or back won't work. You are good at least through the 2002 year model and probably on until the Optimax came out...I don't know. I have an '02 and it apparently is the same as when the design first came out in '89 production year. Don't get one used with the 75 and 90's (3 cyl) as they have the 2.33:1 gear ratio rather than the 2:1 that the 100 thru 125 (4 cyl) use.

If you experiment with the IBoats Mercury parts microfiche's online, you probably can tell by the parts numbers which years will fit your boat.

I would be hesitant to buy a used or remanufactured lower unit from an individual, as they've got to be pressure/vacuum tested to make sure there's been no seal problems.

Aftermarket new lower units are available online (and thru EBay) for approx. $845 plus freight, and they have a 3 year warranty.

I'm in need of an early Yamaha 115 hp lower unit so I can sell my old pontoon boat.

Any 1988-1997 100/115 4 cylinder will work as it a 3 jaw unit and the 1998-2006 is a 6 jaw unit.You can install the 6 jaw but you will have to change out the shift arm. What year Yammy unit you need Bamaman as I have a couple of the V-4 style.

I have a 78 mecury 800. Can anybody tell me if a lower unit from a 76 85 hp mercury will interchange?
