what are lifthing stakes and are they something u can buy?

Yes, kind of costly- adverage i've noticed are like $500 + installation-
I'm sure there are deals tho-
Mostly used to get your pontoon on plane- no experience with them myself-

Yes they can be bought from almost any toon maker through a dealer but if your boat brand doesn't normally have them it will be a bit of a crap shoot to get them on where they will work right.

They also require a fairly large engine to be able to work right, I wouldn't do it on anything with less than 150 horse.

You will need to find a competent welder to weld them on the tubeswhich could be a problem if your tubes are covered in lake gunk, and as I said you kinda have to hope you hit the right spot as lengths and hieght change with the boat.

But lets start at the start, what boat are you wanting to put these on?

I am with Bennington and even with all of R&Ds experience they almost always have to add or cut some off to find the sweet spot but you could certainly come close

The deal with lifting strakes is to get the nosecones of the boat out of the water at cruising speeds for improved speed and efficiency. But like it was said, it's not as easy as it looks to add them, and there's often experimentation involved to get'em right.

You seldom see strakes on a boat with less than 115 hp.
